Hoots, hollers and hillbilly jazz....

Calamity Jean is proud to announce the release of their new album, The Life for Me, featuring all original hillbilly jazz. Appearing on the album is the usual cast of calamity characters, Mo Engel (drums), John French (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Jean Mason (vocals), John Mason (guitar, vocals, violin, banjo), Buc Nelson (trombone), and Randy Venaas (bass). Special guest Leo Whitebird (lap steel, dobro), who also engineered and mixed all of the tracks, rounds out the lineup.

We hope to host our CD release party on Good Friday 2012 at Grumpy's Northeast. We just adore this place, the owner and the staff, and have played at their Northeast Folk Festival in some way, shape or form every year since its' inception. We even took some of the album photos there. Please check back soon as our torrid promotion schedule ramps up, and we hope to see all of you at a live show real soon.

To our friends in radio, we'd like to apologize in advance for the crushing volume of requests you will undoubtedly receive to play our new record. Rest assured, if you haven't received a copy yet, you will receive one shortly. If you simply can't wait, please feel free to contact us.
