Calamity Jean

Calamity Jean is proud to announce the release of their new album, The Life for Me, on April 6th, 2012. Appearing on the album is the usual cast of calamity characters, Mo Engel (drums), John French (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Jean Mason (vocals), John Mason (guitar, vocals, violin, banjo), Buc Nelson (trombone), and Randy Venaas (bass). Special guest Leo Whitebird (lap steel, dobro), who also engineered and mixed all of the tracks, rounds out the lineup. We have some selected tracks available for streaming and download on our recordings page, so please check it out and help spread the good word.

Thanks to Pat and everyone at Grumpy's Northeast for hosting our CD release party. Their Friday Happy Hour is hghly recommended! We had a blast and we're all looking forward to playing the Northeast Folk festival in July.
